Pets are a glorious part of our lives, and there’s no doubt we want to have them around all the time. Which is why one British man has worked out a way to keep his cat on him at all times—and she seems to enjoy every second of it.

Working on a farm means plenty of manual work for Harry Jackson, 27, but that certainly doesn’t mean he can’t find time to spend with his beloved senior cat, Lippy. After bringing her home seven years ago, Jackson noticed that she loved to be held and carried around like a baby, so he recently took that to a whole new level and got her a baby carrier, so she can be with him whenever she wants.

Jackson, from Derby, U.K, explained to Newsweek that he puts her “in there when she needs to be,” allowing him to carry on working while the 12-year-old feline gets some much-needed rest.

Lippy’s love of being carried like a baby has earned her quite the social media following, as Jackson regularly shares clips of their close bond on social media (@harryandlippy). He jokes that she is the “world’s neediest tabby cat,” and by the looks of it, he isn’t wrong.

A video he shared on November 7 which showed exactly how he wears the baby wrap to carry his precious cat has amassed over 3.7 million views and more than 300,000 likes on Instagram so far—people simply can’t get enough.

Jackson continued: “The idea for the baby carrier came about when I started receiving a lot of comments on my videos, many of which saying that I should put her in it because I work on a farm, so it’d be easier carrying her about.

“She will stay in it until it’s time to take her out, but she rarely gets out by herself. Most of the time she just rides around on my shoulders though.”

Who says pet owners can’t be doting parents too? Just like Jackson, many people consider their four-legged friend to be their fur baby. A YouGov poll reported that 43 percent of cat owners consider themselves to be their pet’s parent. This compares to 51 percent of dog owners who call themselves a dog mom or dad.

For many pet owners, they aren’t just part of the family, as 77 percent of people seek comfort from their cat or dog, and 53 percent believe their pet even has similar personality traits to them. Dogs aren’t just protectors, and cats aren’t just radiator-hoggers – they’re fundamental to any family, and most people would do anything for them (including buying a baby carrier).

After sharing the tutorial on how he uses the baby wrap for Lippy, Jackson was blown away by the response he received. He adds that he gets “almost 100 percent positive reactions from people,” who love the idea of being so close to their pet all the time.

There are more than 2,100 comments on the post. Many have heaped praise on Jackson for caring so deeply about Lippy. One comment reads: “She’s in her happy place. I feel sorry for people who aren’t loved by a pet.”

Another person responded: “She’s always so happy once she’s all snuggled in.”

While another Instagram user joked: “Baby wrapping a cat must just be a tabby owner thing.”
