Meghan Markle teaching Prince Archie about his grandmother Princess Diana in a clip from her Netflix show has gone viral on TikTok.

Prince Harry described how similar he felt Meghan was to his mother during a segment of the couple’s six-part docuseries Harry & Meghan.

Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris, France, in 1997 while paparazzi photographers on motorcycles followed behind her car. She also experienced depression and threw herself down the stairs at Sandringham, Queen Elizabeth II’s country retreat in the East of England, while she was pregnant with Prince William. Meghan told Oprah Winfrey during her March 2021 CBS interview that she experienced suicidal thoughts while pregnant with Archie.

In the viral clip, Meghan can be seen showing Archie a picture of Princess Diana on the wall and saying that she was his grandmother. “Hey grandma,” the duchess said. “Yeah, that’s your grandma Diana.”

The TikTok clip was viewed more than 357,000 times and liked over 33,000 times after it was posted four days ago by @thetvandmoviequeen. The onscreen caption reads: “Prince Harry talking about how Meghan Markle’s mothering is so much like Princess Diana… and shows footage of baby Archie looking at an iconic photo of Diana.”

Harry said in the Netflix clip: “So much of what Meghan is and how she is… is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion; she has the same empathy; she has the same confidence; she has this warmth about her.”

Referencing their decision to quit the palace, he added: “I accept that there will be people round the world who fundamentally disagree with what I’ve done and how I’ve done it.

“But I knew that I had to do everything I could to protect my family, especially after what happened to my mum. And I didn’t want history to repeat itself,” Harry said.

Meghan said of her suicidal thoughts: “I was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry, especially, because I know how much loss he’s suffered. But I knew that, if I didn’t say it, that I would do it.

“And I just didn’t want to be alive any more. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. And I remember—I remember how he just cradled me,” the duchess added.

“And I was—I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that, ‘I’ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere.’ And I was told that I couldn’t, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution.”
